One of several houses designed for this client, all home designs had to obey but a few simple rules:
• the husband (a hedge fund man-ager) wanted a modern, flat roofed building with roof deck, but did not want to look down onto a flat roof,
• the proportions of the house plan and elevations had to adhere to the Fibinacci series.
Care was taken to provide the beau-tiful south views to the Burrard Inlet to all frequestnly occupied spaces. The steep slope of the lot allowed for southern exposure to all three floors on one side while the two north facing stories spilled onto a spacious back yard.
