Phase two of the previous project (see n.h.l. phase one under vancouver portfolio) saw the major renovation to the existing Canuck's dressing rooms.

The entire space was dismantelled and reconfigured to create a dressing room format previously unseen in the N.H.L.  Rather than the conventional rectangular space I found that an oval provided a more evenly balanced seating for the players with equal view to the coach at one of the focal points (the staff had complaints that some of the players were tucked away in awkward corners and had difficulting participating in the coach's talk).

This oval concept has received much press attention and has now been copied by several N.H.L. franch-ises (including the Pittsburg Penguins, the Buffalo Sabers).

I chose to employ the deconstuctivist style for the entry (this is used as a back drop for the players interviews between periods) as I wanted to contrast with the repetitive interior of the featureless, curved hallway (the hallways make wide, sweeping curves around the oval building).

The entry mimics the shards of ice created by the leaping orca whale in the franchises logo.
