After designing the interiors for the Swarowsky exhibition space (within a very large, landscaped setting near their headquarters in Wateens, Austria (a project which I was not involved with) the client wanted a viewing platform just above the new grounds in order to enable the visitors to view the exhibition grounds from above.
The design guide lines specified only that a viewing platform with viewing
scope would be made available to the public.
We chose a to envelope the platform with a curved blue ribbon of anodized aluminium. The colored, anodized surface scatters the alpine sunlight and creates a beautiful spectrum of varying colors throughout the day, ranging from a deep purple to brilliant orange.
