Haus der Musik (house of music) is an interactive sound museum in the heart of Vienna, which provides a new approach to music on a playful as well as scientific level.

 

The focus of the client was to create an atmosphere where the visitor would not only passively learn about Vienna's music history, but would be actively engaged through hands-on, physical exhibits.  

Propeller z was given several rooms and an unlimited conceptual control of the space design.  We had music and composition consultants come in and guide us through various possible scenarios before choosing to emph-asize the physics of music (relation-ships between wavelength, frequency, tone and pitch) in a physical, 3-dimensional way that the visitor could walk through and touch.
