Bertelsmann is one of the largest mass media companies in the world. Through work with André Heller, we were given the opportunity to compete in a closed competition for the design of Bertelsmann's exhibition space for the expo 2000 in Hannover.

Our concept explored the relationship between new media and old : paper vs. electronic, hardcopy vs. software.

The structure of the building was to take the form of a single A4 sheet of paper (roughly the size of US letter), cut, scored and folded to envelope an interior exhibition space.

The walls of this bent shape were to carry electronic information : text and images to show the evolution of print-ing and communications.
